PORTRAIT SESSIONS
Before Your Session
Contact me via phone or e-mail to schedule your photo session. Once we’ve decided on a day
for the session together, I will contact you once again to discuss location and clothing choices
and answer any questions you might have. I like to have a planning meeting before the session to discuss
your goals and decide what type of wall art will look best in your home. This gives me the ability to know
exactly how to shoot the session and tailor to your needs.
During Your Session
Individual and Family sessions typically last about 1-1.5 hours and have a very informal atmosphere.
For newborn sessions allow at least 2.5 hours of your time. Your main goal is relax and have fun. My style
does not involve a lot of stiff posing or forced moments, so it is important that the pictures reveal your
comfort with the camera. The balance will be due on the day of your shoot.
After Your Session
Your edited proofs will be ready in approximately 2 weeks, at which time we will schedule an ordering session.
Your collection of photos will consist of 40-60 of the best images that have been artfully processed. Proofs
can be reviewed at my studio or in your home. During the ordering session, you will have a chance to see a
slideshow of your images and proofs of the wall art that was discussed in the planning meeting. I offer high
quality prints and press products. Products offerings include:
- Prints from 8×10 to 30×40 with various paper types and finishes
- Large format canvas gallery-wraps
- Albums and custom-designed books and mini-books
- Holiday and special occasion cards
- High resolution digital files
WEDDINGS
What is your wedding style? – I love to document the relationship between two people. My photography style is mostly photojournalism and documentary based. I like to capture candid moments that will be cherished for years to come. When the real emotion of the day shows in your photographs, then I know it’s something that you will treasure as much as I do. However, I still capture traditional moments and include formal family portraits as well.
How many photographs can I expect? – For most weddings, I usually deliver between 400-500 edited photographs. It just depends on the events of the day and the amount of time you have allocated for pictures. I will always ensure that the day is well documented. Honestly, it can be overwhelming to flip through 800-1000 images. I make sure that the images still showcase how your day unfolded, but that you don’t have 5 images of the same thing.
How do you feel about wedding albums? – I love them! Every married couple should have something to proudly display in thier home for guests to browse. While it’s great to have individual prints framed around the house, that is only part of the story. An album tells the story in a sequential order and allows viewers to get a feel for the events as the really happened. This is impossible to do on a computer screen. Most couples tell me that they would grab their wedding album as their house is burning to the ground. Everyone deserves a family heirloom that is priceless like that, so that is why I include an album in all of my wedding collections.
Are you available for destination weddings? – Absolutely! Have money, will travel. Seriously, I would love the opportunity to travel with the couple and document their day at a location that has meaning. Contact me for travel pricing and availability.
